3. Report this month
The "Report This Month" chart is a trending graph that helps you see how your spending from the beginning of the month up to now compares to the same period three months ago, by showing expenses from the start of the month to the current date and comparing it to the average of the same period three months ago.
Press the 'See Report' button to access detailed report sections.
When viewing Report this month chart, you will have the following information:
- The X-axis (horizontal axis) displays the dates within the current month, starting from the first day (according to your settings) and ending on the last day of the month.
- Red/blue line: represents expenses/income up to the current date.
- Gray line: represents the average expenses/income from three months ago up to the current date.
Three-month average calculation method:
Data is accumulated from the first day of the month up to the current date.
a. Current Month:
- Data on the first day of the month = total expense/income for that day.
- The red line represents cumulative expenses from the beginning of the month up to the corresponding date. For example, if you hover over the 20th day, the tooltip will show: "15.219.000 VND as of June 20," meaning from the start of June 1st to June 20th, you have spent a total of 15.219.000 VND.
b. Average of Previous 3 Months:
- Data on the first day of the month = Average total expense for that day from the past 3 months (the calculation of income follows a similar approach).
- Data for subsequent days (n-th day) = (cumulative total expense from the first day of the month up to the respective n-th day) divided by the number of months with total expense for that day (the calculation of income follows a similar approach).
Note:
- If there are no transactions on a particular day within the month, no data will be calculated for that month.
- You can adjust the first day of the month by going to the Account tab and selecting Settings.
-
If data entry starts after the first day of the month, data will only be calculated from the start date of transaction entry for that month.
-
Example 1: If the month starts on the 5th and we want data for the 27th:
- Current data = Total expense from 5th March 2024 to 1st April 2024.
- Average data for previous 3 months = (Total expense from 5th December 2023 to 1st January 2024 + Total expense from 5th January 2024 to 1st February 2024 + Total expense from 5th February 2024 to 3rd March 2024) divided by 3.
-
Example 2: If the month starts on the 1st and we want data for the 31st:
- Current data = Total expense from 1st May 2024 to 31st May 2024.
- Average data for previous 3 months = Total expense from 1st March 2023 to 31st March 2023 (only 1 month because February has fewer days and April has 30 days).
-
Example 1: If the month starts on the 5th and we want data for the 27th:
