This feature allows users to manage categories directly within the wallet editing screen. Users can create new categories and toggle their active status within a specific wallet to better organize their financial records, ensuring a more personalized experience.
How to manage the activity status of categories within each wallet
Step 1: Go to the Account tab and select My Wallets.
Step 2: Choose the specific wallet you want to view. On the detail screen, you’ll see the number of active categories. For example: "51 categories are active in the Family wallet."
Step 3: Tap on the Categories section to edit the activity status or add a new category.
-
On the Category screen, active categories are highlighted in green, while inactive categories are shown in gray.
-
To deactivate a category, simply toggle the switch from green to gray.
Note: If a subcategory is turned on, the parent category will automatically be activated as well. Similarly, if a parent category is turned off, all its subcategories will also be deactivated. Within an active parent group, you can freely toggle the status of individual subcategories.
-
If there are any active categories in this wallet, an Inactive All button will appear in the top left corner to quickly deactivate all categories.
-
If no categories are active, this button will turn into Active All.
Note: Tapping Active All or Inactive All will toggle the status of all categories under the three groups: Expense, Income, and Debt/Loan
How to add a new category
On the wallet's Category screen, tap New Category, fill in the required information, then press Save to create a new category.
Note: The new category will only be active in the wallet where it was created.
- For example: If you create a new category called Dinner in the Family wallet, it will only be active in Family. In all other wallets, the category will be inactive by default.
- If you want to activate this category in other wallets, you’ll need to enable it individually in each one or through Category Management in the Account tab.
- See section IV of how to edit categories for more details.
